After completing her law degree, Varsha chose to study Psychology because of her interest in understanding human mind. During her internship period she gained some experience on techniques such as Cognitive behavioral therapy and REBT (Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy) under the guidance of her supervisor. During her work with children who had emotional issues, she realized that children lacked the life skills required to handle life stressors. This led her to realize the need for Life skills-based education as an intervention that has the potential to prevent mental illness. Having played Basket-ball for her school team and Throw ball during her under graduation, she chose to work for Project KHEL, as she is also a strong believer that the sports environment can be utilized as an alternative medium to educate children, as it inherently mirrors the skills also required to cope with life situations.
